Haider Ackermann Fall 2011

Hi Guys I know I haven’t blogged in a while (almost 2 months exact) I have taken a break to settle in a new job and given myself some time off. However I was so inspired by designer Haider Ackermann that I rushed to my computer today to share my passion. Looking back at the past celebrity red carpet this year draped fashions whether it be pantsuit or dresses were really in this year.

Adopted up-and-coming Columbian- French designer Haider Ackermann was born 1971. Inspired by Yves Saint Laurent, Ackermann moved to Belgium where he studied fashion design in 1994. Ackermann created his own label and presented his first women's wear collection in March 2001 during Paris fashion week. After much success, by 2005 he was signed with the Belgian group BVBA 32 and set up his studio in Paris. Influenced by cultural differences, Ackermann's fashion contrasts and blends dress codes. The simple cuts of his creations are often asymmetric and sewn of different materials, his use of bold and dynamic colour combinations and the way in which the fabrics are draped to hug the profile of the body make his clothing urban and street wear with feminine silhouettes and highly sophisticated. His creations have been worn by many celebrities including Tilda Swinton and Janet Jackson. This designer is one to watch it has been said that Karl Lagerfeld saw him to be his ideal successor at Chanel, and some commentators called him a "new Yves Saint-Laurent". Needless to say all eyes are on Ackermann!!
